Creating new knowledge that will contribute to victory

JISS takes advantage of its characteristics as an institution equippedwith the integrated functions of Sports Science, Sports Medicine, and Sports Intelligence to cooperate with researchers, research institutions, and national federations both at home and abroad in conducting research designed to develop useful measures for the enhancement of international competitiveness in Japanese sports.
Studies include specialized areas for each sport and those that create knowledge that can be utilized in a multidisciplinary manner, as well as subjects that need to be scientifically clarified for application to competitive sports.
We promote research by organizing project teams for each subject.
The results obtained from such research are widely used by national federations and research institutions, and presented at academic conferences that are held for the enhancement of sports competitiveness and for the fields of Sports Medicine and Science.
The results are also utilized as reference materials in seminars for sports-related presentations.

JISS Conference on Sports Science

JISS hosts an annual Conference on Sports Science as a venue for the presentation of research and to facilitate the exchange of information and opinions on Sports Science, Sports Medicine, and Sports Intelligence among researchers, coaches, and others involved in competitive sports with the aim of enhancing the international competitiveness of Japanese sports.

Academic Journals and Other Science

To enhance the international competitiveness of Japanese sports and contribute to the development of Sports Science, JISS gathers and summarizes knowledge obtained through its support activities and issues the Japanese Journal of Elite Sports Support (JJESS), a journal focusing on the improvement of international competitiveness in Japanese sports.
JISS also publishes annual reports on research projects and other JISS activities, which are made available to the public.
