Department of Sports Information
Effective use of information and the sharing of information among athletes, coaches, trainers, sports doctors, researchers and others involved in the world of sports has become major issue in Japan. With the cooperation of the Japanese Olympic Committee, the Japan Amateur Sports Association, sports federations, colleges and universities specializing in sports sciences and medicine, regional sports science and medicine institutes, and other sports-related organizations, the Department of Sports Information gathers and disseminates information useful to enhancing sports performance. The department also maintains databases of sports images and information on subjects including game analysis, sports medicine and science research, strategy and tactics, sporting records, and sports policy. Furthermore, the department builds domestic and international networks aimed at facilitating the exchange of information.
Department of Sports Information facilities include the Sports Information Service Room, the Video Editing and Analysis Room, and the Virtual Training Room. |
